The Department of Conservation awarded EML the tender for the supply and delivery of the replacement Emily Creek Bridge contract, encompassing the vital demolition, removal, and disposal of the existing Emily Creek Bridge, followed by the construction of a brand-new 35m replacement bridge at the same location. The new bridge is composed of steel towers, dual main cables, aluminium hanger & transoms framework, timber decking, and advanced cable barrier systems, site remediation was conducted upon project completion. Additionally, minor track works were required to restore short sections of the Routeburn Track adjacent to the new bridge. This project had a fixed and non-negotiable completion deadline of October 29, 2024, to coincide with the proposed opening date for the Routeburn Track Great Walk. The project was completed on time and within budget.
